A Day In The Life of The Flower Arranger
Starting your own business is the most liberating and fear inducing thing that you can do with your career. You suddenly have to become an expert on so many elements to do with your own business. You become an accountant, a social media expert, a marketing whiz, a manager, a designer, an SEO specialist – to name a few – over night. You have all these things to manage whilst working, mostly by yourself, which can be extremely lonely. To save my self employed loneliness I incorporated the way that I photograph family Day In The Life sessions by reaching out to small business creatives like Sapphire.
I took photographs for the beautiful Sapphire who runs her own floristry business called The Flower Arranger in a cute little studio in Essex, to show what goes on within a day in her work. She is killing it in the wedding world – girl boss style – and I thought what better way to encapsulate all of her hard work and effort than by having some photographs to use and document her business?
It was a lovely excuse to actually meet up with and connect with Sapphire [where before this we had only chatted through the wonderful world of social media] and see how she spends her time running her business. We chatted flowers, I watched her prepping all sorts of blooms and greenery for a wedding that she had the next day and we generally had a laugh whilst I snapped away on my camera. It was a great way to capture Sapphire’s passion for flowers and her floristry business with all the creativity and work she puts into her career.
So if you have scrolled down my blog [thank you by the way] and if you have liked what you have seen and are a small business or a person in a creative industry hit me up with an email because we can create great things together; whether you are a florist, stylist, planner, cake maker or calligrapher all of your businesses deserve to be documented and celebrated because working for your self is a very hard day to day slog. Plus, hanging out and taking photographs is fun and being self employed [unless you work within a team or in an office] can get pretty lonely so it is mainly a good excuse to have a chat and celebrate the creative industry we are in!
Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read my blog. If you are interested in Sapphire's amazing floristry services here are her website details.
